Sight Loss Tip: Checking food temperature made simple

I personally find cooking and food preparation one of the more difficult daily tasks to do with sight loss. I found checking food temperature with a thermometer particularly challenging, until I purchased the RNIB Talking Food Thermometer.

The RNIB talking food thermometer is similar to common food thermometers. It has a display showing the temperature, but with the addition of a large yellow button. Pressing the yellow button will read the temperature aloud. My sighted wife loves it, she no longer has to take the thermometer out of the food to read the display.
